I sold my used bladecenter server to a local computer store for a great price. I had purchased it new about five years ago and had put it into my office. When we had to sell the firm to stay afloat, the new owners told me that I could have anything in the office computer wise, because they were putting in all new equipment.

I had paid a lot of money for the bladecenter, and thought that it would be smart to see how much I could get for it in the market today, even though it was used. When the owner of the computer store told me that they buy every used server that they can get their hands on, I asked him why.

He explained that businesses usually that are just getting started cannot afford to buy new servers and he takes the used ones and refurbishes them and they are much less than buying new. He showed me that he had sold ten used pseries servers already that month and if was only the tenth. I asked him how much he had gotten for the used pseries servers and he said that he made double what he had into them.

I was happy with what he offered me for the used bladecenter I had to sell and figured that if he can make a profit on it, then good for him.
