My uncle Peter has this hobby of collecting computer parts and accessories that sometimes drives my aunt crazy. According to her, it would have been okay if most of the stuff he accumulated in their attic were brand new and worked. Sadly, she said, most of them were collected by my uncle from friends who had broken computers and other office equipments. To make it short, Uncle Peter collected junk.

One day, I got a call from my aunt and she asked if I could come over to their house and help her clean the attic. My uncle wasn’t around and she finally decided to put a stop at his madness. I obliged as I was curious to all the stuff my uncle collected.

What I saw was a jumble of metal and plastic. I saw a couple of old IBM Tape Drives and I asked my aunt if I could take it home with me. She told me I can have everything if I wanted them.

I knew IBM Storage was top notch but I was shocked to find out that it was still working when I plugged it in my computer. I had a huge grin on my face as I called my aunt. I told her I’ll be back the next day.
